Hi! I just got asked to be the casting director for a new documentary series that photographer Danielle Levitt is creating in collaboration with Dazed Digital ( Dazed and Confused Magazine ). This is NOT about teenagers bedrooms or for The Do Not Enter Diaries. Danielle and her producing team are traveling all around the country to film day in life type stories. Rather, our focus is US teens who have unique passions, come from a compelling place socially/family, or are in general very forward thinking - we have a lot of teens in NY & LA so we’d love to get other places. Check out dazeddigital.com if you’re unfamiliar, and shoot me an email at emorlow@gmail.com or inbox me if you know someone who might be a good fit.
THE DO NOT ENTER DIARIES IS HIRING!
We are going off to college in the fall, and while we have NO intention of ending The Do Not Enter Diaries, with having to leave our own teenage bedrooms, we realize that it is time to bring on younger teens to help us keep this project afloat. Please pass our message on to any friends, siblings, or anyone else you think might fit this if you want to see The Do Not Enter Diaries keep going.
We are looking for two teenagers who can work great as a team: one who is interested in learning the filming/editing side of The Do Not Enter Diaries and the other who is interested in website management/ social media/ dealing with our subjects. AKA there are two positions available here— filming/editing (this is HUGE) or website/interviewing/social media.
Bringing you onto our team would mean that you’d be:
- Interested in shadowing us as we film future subjects
- Interested in shadowing Emily as she edits or Emma as she works on the site/outreach/social media/crafting questions (depending on which of the two positions you’re interested in).
- Meeting with Emily and Emma to learn more about The Do Not Enter Diaries philosophy
- Be able to make a long term commitment to our team.
You can apply for an individual position, OR, preferably, asa best friend duo, where one friend would be focusing on the filming/editingand the other on the site.
PLEASE NOTE: We are ONLY looking for teenagers UNDER THE AGE OF 17, who are fully committed to the potential of working for The Do Not Enter Diaries. Must be based in NYC. Contact us at donotenterdiaries@gmail.com , if interested or have any questions about the opportunities above.
xoxo

Also in your email, I’d love for you to include any relevant commentary on the following:
- Do you think certain corners of the Internet are more socially acceptable for certain genders?
- Why do you think less boys spend time in these spheres?
- What is different about the way boys and girls (specifically teens) use the internet?
The Do Not Enter Diaries is a global webseries co-run by Emma Orlow and Emily Cohn, telling the stories of teenagers through their bedrooms. We currently post a new video every wednesday at 4PM EST, but will shortly be adding two more days. Monday will be our Correspondent’s Corner. Our DNED Correspondent Program is for teenagers with a strong interest in film to help us reach teens in areas to which we cannot travel. Correspondents are responsible for cultivating a unique group of teenagers whom they know, filming them in our style, and sending us the footage to edit as we see fit. If we are interested in having you sign on with us after you apply, we will send you specific guidelines on how to film your teen subjects. You can fill out the application to become a correspondent here. PLEASE REBLOG AND SHARE WITH FRIENDS!

I co-founded a website called The Do Not Enter Diaries and a very nice mustachioed gentleman came to interview me and my best friend/ co-founding partner in our bedrooms about it for The NY Times.
